… well its a little over a week.
I got my mac mini about 1 week and 2 days ago. Since then I’ve been ‘making the switch’. I copied over all my e-mail and bookmarks, and now I run exclusively off of the mac.
The reason I did this is because for simple things like browsing and reading e-mail, the mac mini is so much more convenient. It starts up incredibly fast, it is super quiet, and it hardly generates any heat (my pc makes my room feel like a sauna).
My pc/windows machine’s now sole purpose is for gaming (an area that the mac can’t even compete in), watching tv, and other various downloads like Systm, TheBroken, TWiT, From The Shadows… basically all my favorite -free- tech content.
I have to say I am very impressed and pleased with the mac mini and Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). The features are all incredibly awesome, and it gives you a completely useful and functional computer right out of the box, loaded with everything you would or could ever need. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a stress (and spyware/adware/virus) free computing experience… provided you don’t have any extravagant needs – like gaming.
