Round Two…. FIGHT!

So, my hosting account here at Fuitadnet is about to come to an end. I only ordered 4 months worth because I wanted to make sure that they were a decent host. I have become very cautious since my experience with my last host.

I am very pleased to say that I have been more than happy with the service I get here. I had a problem with a domain name i was trying to add to my account, and within an hour of sending an e-mail to their tech support I got a responce and the problem was solved. So, I am pretty confident that I will stay with them for a long time. So I will be renewing my account here for a year I think.

The only thing is I’m not sure how to do that. I don’t know if its automatic, or if I have to do something to renew it for another year. So, there may be some downtime in the next week if things don’t get sorted out.

In other news… Google’s patent on their search technology has been released to the public, so we now know exactly HOW they determine a website’s rank. One of the things it checks is how long a website is registered for. This is done to weed out ‘spam’ website that only stick around for a year. So, if you don’t have your website registered for more than a year in advance your Google PageRank won’t be very high. In light of this, I think I’m going to increase my domain register date for a couple years, because I usually only do it for a year at a time and it is obviously hurting me… TheNoodleman.ca shows up on like the 14th page if you do a search for ‘noodleman’.

So, I guess this will be my last post until the whole hosting issue gets resolved. I’m going to backup my database just incase anything goes wrong.
