WHAT WAS I THINKING!??!?!?

Well, I really did it this time. I screwed it aaaaaaaaaaaaall up. Long story short, I can’t boot up my computer because the partition table is damaged. Its gone.

I have tried running the Windows install cd and it just sees one huge 160GB chunk of ‘unknown’ partition space. FDISK sees the same. Partition Magic’s recover disks give me a partition table error #108… something about a partition not ending on a cylinder.

To put into perspective how much this SUCKS: My half finished Online Briscola game was living on the this hard drive, along with a bunch of backups I had from my website and other computers. So, yeah, some of that is kind of CRITICAL!

So, right now my only option is to get a partition table repair utility, which all seem to cost upwards of $50USD. But they all have free trials to see if they’ll actually fix the problem first, before they make you pay. That is kind of nice I guess.

The only real question now is, do I waste a day fixing this problem or get started on my essay thats due tuesday? I’ve still got this Mac Mini, so I don’t actually need Windows to do any work.

This is the dilemma I’m left with. I’ll have more on this probably this evening or tomorrow.

Wish me luck!
